I am a Senior Software Developer with 8 years of experience in architecting, designing, building and delivering web and mobile applications across React, React Native, .NET and Node.js with AWS and Azure services.

Coming from an Engineering and Computer Science background, I combine structured problem solving with a strong understanding of client domains to design robust, maintainable software solutions that continue to deliver beyond go live. I have delivered solutions ranging from AWS event-driven architectures that won at the NZ Hi-Tech Awards in 2025 to Azure platforms and agentic AI solutions using LangChain and LLMs hosted on Microsoft Foundry.

I have built trusted client relationships through consistent delivery, clear communication and my ability to explain complex technology in plain terms to managers and stakeholders. One client relationship that began in my graduate days had grown into a technical advisory role and in 2023 I was promoted to Senior Software Developer.

I enjoy leading and supporting the development of my colleagues. I led a Cloud Certification Programme that brought colleagues together to share knowledge, build their cloud capabilities and work towards AWS and Microsoft certifications. This programme helped my employer achieved Microsoft Partnership status.

  • Improved their Xero accounting workflow to support partial and batch payments with idempotency so retried requests never create duplicate payments and robust error handling so failures are caught and recoverable.
  • Built an agentic AI note-checker with LangChain that reviews technician notes against the company's standard operating procedures (SOPs) that prompts the technician when details are missing so gaps are caught at the point of entry.
  • Served as a trusted technical advisor to the client, including presentations to their managers on how LLMs, AI agents and MCP worked together and where agentic features could add value to their existing apps.

  • Took ownership of supporting the go-live of a nationwide job booking and scheduling platform with third-party integrations including Xero Accounting. The client is an NZ company with 36 branches across the country.
  • As the main developer supporting the project after the initial launch, I fixed bugs, refactored features and stabilised the system that delivered positive business outcomes. The trust built here grew into a lasting advisory relationship.
  • Owned features across UI, server logic, data, integrations and deployment which gave a complete view of the delivery lifecycle that has underpinned every role since.

My first commercial software role as the sole mobile developer on a React Native app for a New Zealand University’s Health Research Department. The app collected health data from research participants. I wrote the entire React Native codebase under the supervision of a senior developer.

  • Solved the project's central challenge of dynamic forms by designing an approach that generated questionnaires from configuration rather than hard-coded fields on screens. I implemented the solution upon the senior developer’s approval of my design.
  • Built strong React Native skills in state management and gained native mobile integration skills such as integrating the mobile camera for barcode scanning. Implemented responsive screens with Flexbox and integrated the app with a backend API.
